Though a small one, I like for the squares in it. The bright red colour I have used is again self made colour powder. I have used food colour mixed with rice flour as I don't get colour powders in Sin.

I have used food colour mixed with rice flour as I don't get colour powders in Singapore, except during Deepavalli season. The powder was too fine, where I couldn't control the flow of the powder running through my fingers. Still. Dot Count - 7-1
Place the Dots
Sprinkle a few drops of water to clean the floor. Put down the dots in straight, even spacing using white rice powder or chalk.
Start from the Center
Find the middle dot. Draw the center loop, star knot, or flower petal first. Starting in the center keeps the pattern perfectly balanced on all sides.
Loop Around the Outer Dots
Pinch the rice flour between your thumb and forefinger. Guide the line smoothly around the dots in one continuous motion without lifting your fingers.
Add Red Border or Lamps
Outline the edges with traditional red Kaavi powder, or place glowing terracotta agal vilakku (oil lamps) at the corners to make your Kolam radiant!
