Star Design Kolam
A simple design with 12x2-2 dot count. It took less than 10 mins to finish off as the design was too easy to draw and its obviously true as this kolam has a proof in it, Smudge free.
A simple design with 12x2-2 dot count. It took less than 10 mins to finish off as the design was too easy to draw and its obviously true as this kolam has a proof in it, Smudge free. I have used red and blue colours for shading. I couldn't clear the previous kolam's impression, still proceeded to the new one. I like this design and hope you too agree with my words.
Place the Dots
Sprinkle a few drops of water to clean the floor. Put down 12x2 dots in straight, even spacing using white rice powder or chalk.
Start from the Center
Find the middle dot. Draw the center loop, star knot, or flower petal first. Starting in the center keeps the pattern perfectly balanced on all sides.
Loop Around the Outer Dots
Pinch the rice flour between your thumb and forefinger. Guide the line smoothly around the dots in one continuous motion without lifting your fingers.
Add Red Border or Lamps
Outline the edges with traditional red Kaavi powder, or place glowing terracotta agal vilakku (oil lamps) at the corners to make your Kolam radiant!
