Over make up ruins the show LOL. I did the same thing to this kolam. I should have stopped drawing the main elements and no further experiment with frills and curls on the sikku strand. I feel those look out of place. I like this kolam particularly for the evenly placed dots. I don't feel comfortable in placing the interlaced dots. My maiden effort in intermediate dot count and I'm pleased with the final result. Dot Count 13 -7 Interlaced kolam. I have used chalkpiece as the drawing medium.

Place the Dots
Sprinkle a few drops of water to clean the floor. Put down the dots in straight, even spacing using white rice powder or chalk.
Start from the Center
Find the middle dot. Draw the center loop, star knot, or flower petal first. Starting in the center keeps the pattern perfectly balanced on all sides.
Loop Around the Outer Dots
Pinch the rice flour between your thumb and forefinger. Guide the line smoothly around the dots in one continuous motion without lifting your fingers.
Add Red Border or Lamps
Outline the edges with traditional red Kaavi powder, or place glowing terracotta agal vilakku (oil lamps) at the corners to make your Kolam radiant!
