Sharada Aunty. She drew muggulu only on two days, Ugadi and Sankranthi. She used to fill the muggulu powder on her palm, slipped the powder with a knack, four lines with equidistant got settled down on the floor. Her muggulu were only square celtic types. It was a time pass for us to sit and see her cleaning, preparing the floor for muggulu. If I can meet her sure, I will document her muggulu drawing. Hoping to meet her soon.

Place the Dots
Sprinkle a few drops of water to clean the floor. Put down the dots in straight, even spacing using white rice powder or chalk.
Start from the Center
Find the middle dot. Draw the center loop, star knot, or flower petal first. Starting in the center keeps the pattern perfectly balanced on all sides.
Loop Around the Outer Dots
Pinch the rice flour between your thumb and forefinger. Guide the line smoothly around the dots in one continuous motion without lifting your fingers.
Add Red Border or Lamps
Outline the edges with traditional red Kaavi powder, or place glowing terracotta agal vilakku (oil lamps) at the corners to make your Kolam radiant!
