A round rangoli done only in white. Started with 6 petal flower and extending it with another set of petals. I had drawn three circles as a guide to draw this kolam and outlined the circles with a cha.
A round rangoli done only in white. Started with 6 petal flower and extending it with another set of petals. I had drawn three circles as a guide to draw this kolam and outlined the circles with a chalk piece. Tried a mesh type fillings on the outer layer which is easy to draw. I have divided the circle into segments with radial lines. Draw curvy lines from one side of the radial line to the other end, Now repeat the same drawing method from the opposite side and that completes the cross line design.
Place the Dots
Sprinkle a few drops of water to clean the floor. Put down Freehand dots in straight, even spacing using white rice powder or chalk.
Start from the Center
Find the middle dot. Draw the center loop, star knot, or flower petal first. Starting in the center keeps the pattern perfectly balanced on all sides.
Loop Around the Outer Dots
Pinch the rice flour between your thumb and forefinger. Guide the line smoothly around the dots in one continuous motion without lifting your fingers.
Add Red Border or Lamps
Outline the edges with traditional red Kaavi powder, or place glowing terracotta agal vilakku (oil lamps) at the corners to make your Kolam radiant!
